Brethren:
This past month at our business meeting, it was my great honor and privilege to present RWB John Stalvey with his 25 year pin and Bro. James Moore with his 50 year pin and Grand Lodge Certificate. Our thanks goes out to these brothers for the time commmitments and contributions they have made to Masonry and our lodge in particular.
This month, we have tentatively scheduled a Master's Degree for Thursday, May 10th and a Fellowcraft Degree for Thursday, May 24th. Please make plans to attend and support our new brothers and if you would like to participate in the degree work, please give me or any other officer a call.
Wednesday, May 23rd will mark our second participation in the Honor Flight program. Brothers from the 29th Masonic District will be providing a light breakfast at the Myrtle Beach Airport prior to the Flight and welcoming the return flight home. If you would like to participate in this event, please contact me or WB Jim Apone. I guarantee you an experience you will never forget.
Hope to see you in Lodge.

Brothers:
This month we celebrate Memorial Day; but did you know there is also a Masonic Remembrance Ceremony? The Empty or Vacant Chair Ceremony dates back to 1875, a decade after the close of the American Civil War when it was used in Masonic Lodges to pay tribute to those who did not return from the war. Since then it has been used by many lodges at Remembrance Day to pay homage to those Brother Masons who fell during World War I; World War II; and other wars; or it may be adapted to remember Past Masters or Members.
Copies of this moving and reflective ceremony will be available at our May business meeting. Be sure to pick one up.

Brothers,
In keeping with a monthly theme for food, May focuses on the Indy 500. We will be having Fried Pork Tenderloin sandwiches with all the fixin's, tater tots, cole slaw and dessert.
On a more serious note, it was nice to see some of our long term members at the lodge. I appreciated the opportunity to fellowship with those men and hope as a Lodge we make a special effort to help them and others (when help is needed) to get to Lodge.
